the passion of christ

I saw the Passion the week after it came out with several folks from Mosaic Life. Some of us saw more of the movie than others (since some of us watched through fingers). my thoughts… well done movie. accurate? for the most part though there were some Hollywood moments (read moments of artistic license) like the tear drop from heaven leading to the earthquake (straight out of earthquake the movie) but in general they didn’t detract from the accurate telling of the story anti-semitic? i don’t think so the roman soldiers came of as the most stupid and savage people involved in Jesus death. many of the religious leaders did not participate in the process leading to Jesus crucifixion. most powerful outreach opportunity in years? not by a long shot. while i think followers of Jesus need to engage the conversation that come from the release of the movie, we need to remember that everyday of our lives is an opportunity to invest in other in ways that give us opportunities to hare our faith my two bits

I still haven’t seen the Passion here in Malaysia yet, we don’t know whether we’ll even have a chance at all. Pirated copies are in the market. A church showed it one night as an outreach event, then stopped once they found ou they used a prirated DVD.
